Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life With Sweetmeats by Alexander Adriaenssen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,752.12). Admittedly, works by Alexander Adriaenssen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses and an iris in a glass vase, crabs and prawns on a pewter platter, a Façon-de-Venise wineglass, a stoneware ewer, a bunch of grapes, a bread roll and a roemer on a partly-draped table in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 47,355.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life With Sweetmeats von Alexander Adriaenssen im Dezember 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.752,12) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Adriaenssen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses and an iris in a glass vase, crabs and prawns on a pewter platter, a Façon-de-Venise wineglass, a stoneware ewer, a bunch of grapes, a bread roll and a roemer on a partly-draped table im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 47.355,12).
