The work Still Life Of Roses In A Glass Jar On A Stone Ledge With A Butterfly by Alexander Adriaenssen was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2013. It achieved a price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,280.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexander Adriaenssen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Roses and an iris in a glass vase, crabs and prawns on a pewter platter, a Façon-de-Venise wineglass, a stoneware ewer, a bunch of grapes, a bread roll and a roemer on a partly-draped table sold at auction in December 2004 with the realized price of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 47,355.12).
