Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A silver plate with seafood, a roll of bread, a 'Façon-de-Venise of red wine', a 'keulse pot', an artichoke, dead birds, an orange, a partially pealed lemon and a knife by Alexander Adriaenssen. The result of EUR 10,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Adriaenssen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses and an iris in a glass vase, crabs and prawns on a pewter platter, a Façon-de-Venise wineglass, a stoneware ewer, a bunch of grapes, a bread roll and a roemer on a partly-draped table in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 47,355.12).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A silver plate with seafood, a roll of bread, a 'Façon-de-Venise of red wine', a 'keulse pot', an artichoke, dead birds, an orange, a partially pealed lemon and a knife von Alexander Adriaenssen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 10.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Adriaenssen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses and an iris in a glass vase, crabs and prawns on a pewter platter, a Façon-de-Venise wineglass, a stoneware ewer, a bunch of grapes, a bread roll and a roemer on a partly-draped table im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 47.355,12).
