Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alex Gardner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in April 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Triangle #2 sold for GBP 138,600.00 (€ 159,430.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alex Gardner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Chair #2 sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of USD 214,200.00 (€ 180,790.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alex Gardner erzielte im April 2021 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Triangle #2 für GBP 138.600,00 (€ 159.430,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alex Gardner; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Chair #2 im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 180.790,01).
