Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Fun World Black Market by Alex Da Corte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 24,411.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alex Da Corte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Night Vision in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 153,764.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fun World Black Market von Alex Da Corte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 24.411,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Da Corte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Night Vision im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 153.764,15).
