Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Black Bone Baddie by Alex Da Corte was auctioned at Phillips in London in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 22,860.00 (€ 26,249.63). Admittedly, works by Alex Da Corte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Night Vision in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 153,764.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Black Bone Baddie von Alex Da Corte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 22.860,00 (€ 26.249,63) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Da Corte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Night Vision im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 153.764,15).
