This artwork by Alessandro Magnasco achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2017. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work Jacob Wrestling With The Angel sold for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,054.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alessandro Magnasco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The singing lesson in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 168,000.00 (€ 249,518.78).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alessandro Magnasco erzielte im Juli 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Jacob Wrestling With The Angel für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.054,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alessandro Magnasco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The singing lesson im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 168.000,00 (€ 249.518,78).
