Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hotel, Dallas City, Illinois by Alec Soth was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 7,560.00 (€ 7,610.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alec Soth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Charles, Vasa, Minnesota in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 113,400.00 (€ 94,264.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hotel, Dallas City, Illinois von Alec Soth wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 7.610,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alec Soth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Charles, Vasa, Minnesota im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 94.264,34).
