The work A Popular Mountain Refuge by Albert Willem was worth GBP 176,400.00 (€ 199,138.42) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Albert Willem; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot All In All Not Bad For His First Attempt sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of GBP 228,600.00 (€ 266,051.04).
