Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection, which included the work Australian Portrait Of Sidney Nolan by Albert Tucker. The price achieved of AUD 81,600.00 (€ 50,174.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Albert Tucker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian intruder And Parrots in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 456,000.00 (€ 266,189.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Works from the Qantas Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Portrait Of Sidney Nolan von Albert Tucker zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 81.600,00 (€ 50.174,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Albert Tucker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian intruder And Parrots im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 456.000,00 (€ 266.189,11).
