In April 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century Paintings, which included the work Dutch Tjieke Roelofs Reading by Albert Roelofs. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 78,250.00 57% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Roelofs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Toekomstdromen, which sold at auction in April 2001 for NLG 367,000.00 (€ 168,446.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 57 % übertroffen
Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch Tjieke Roelofs Reading von Albert Roelofs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 78.250,00 und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Albert Roelofs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Toekomstdromen beobachtet, die im April 2001 für NLG 367.000,00 (€ 168.446,13) versteigert wurde.
