The work The First Lesson by Albert Neuhuys was worth GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,596.92) to a buyer in March 2006. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Pictures including Russian Pictures at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Albert Neuhuys; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Young Love sold at auction in October 2006 with the realized price of EUR 14,400.00.
