Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Poison Poisson by Alan Belcher was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 63.00 (€ 52.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alan Belcher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wing-Tip in July 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,694.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Poison Poisson von Alan Belcher im April 2018 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 63,00 (€ 52,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alan Belcher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wing-Tip im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.694,02).
