In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included this untitled work by Al Loving. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,222.66), 42% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Al Loving have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 85,969.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Al Loving zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.222,66) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Al Loving auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 85.969,74).
