Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work S.F. by Al Held. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 630.00 (€ 579.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Al Held achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compass Rose in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 283,601.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD durch, in der auch die Arbeit S.F. von Al Held zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 630,00 (€ 579,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Al Held erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Compass Rose im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 283.601,05).
