In March this year Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD, which included the work Pachinko by Al Held. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,738.41), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Al Held achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compass Rose in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 283,601.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pachinko von Al Held zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.738,41) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Al Held erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Compass Rose im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 283.601,05).
