Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Villa Farnese Royal Stairs, Caprorola, Italy by Ahmet Ertug was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 36,234.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmet Ertug - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Library of Trinity College, 'The Long Room', Dublin, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 137,000.00 (€ 98,774.33).
