Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bates Hall, Boston Public Library by Ahmet Ertug was sold in the Contemporary Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 47,880.00 (€ 41,109.30) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmet Ertug - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Library of Trinity College, 'The Long Room', Dublin, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 137,000.00 (€ 98,774.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bates Hall, Boston Public Library von Ahmet Ertug wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 41.109,30) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmet Ertug mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Library of Trinity College, 'The Long Room', Dublin beobachtet, die im April 2014 für USD 137.000,00 (€ 98.774,33) versteigert wurde.
