Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Galleria Colonna, Palazzo Colonna, Rome by Ahmet Ertug was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,636.47). Admittedly, works by Ahmet Ertug have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Library of Trinity College, 'The Long Room', Dublin in April 2014 with an auction result of USD 137,000.00 (€ 98,774.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Galleria Colonna, Palazzo Colonna, Rome von Ahmet Ertug im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.636,47) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ahmet Ertug auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Library of Trinity College, 'The Long Room', Dublin im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.000,00 (€ 98.774,33).
