Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Torso by Ahmad Zakii Anwar for HKD 31,250.00 (€ 2,575.40). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 75,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ahmad Zakii Anwar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man in April 2007 with an auction result of SGD 72,000.00 (€ 34,682.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Torso von Ahmad Zakii Anwar für HKD 31.250,00 (€ 2.575,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 75.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ahmad Zakii Anwar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SGD 72.000,00 (€ 34.682,28).
