Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Mantra by Ahmad Zakii Anwar. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,914.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ahmad Zakii Anwar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man in April 2007 with an auction result of SGD 72,000.00 (€ 34,682.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mantra von Ahmad Zakii Anwar zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.914,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ahmad Zakii Anwar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SGD 72.000,00 (€ 34.682,28).
