In April 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Dancer by Ahmad Zakii Anwar. The auction ended at the price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,300.65), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ahmad Zakii Anwar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man, which sold at auction in April 2007 for SGD 72,000.00 (€ 34,682.28).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dancer von Ahmad Zakii Anwar zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.300,65) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ahmad Zakii Anwar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man beobachtet, die im April 2007 für SGD 72.000,00 (€ 34.682,28) versteigert wurde.
