Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of two heads, seen in profile: a head of a man with a beard and head of a woman with a floral headpiece by Agostino Carracci was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,770.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agostino Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Olimpia Luna As Judith And Melchiorre Zoppio As Holofernes in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 869,000.00 (€ 643,703.70).
