Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900, which included the work A wooded landscape with a figure resting beside a road and a river in the background (recto); Nine studies of pendants, and a sketch of a spider (verso) by Agostino Carracci. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,814.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agostino Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Olimpia Luna As Judith And Melchiorre Zoppio As Holofernes in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 869,000.00 (€ 643,703.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 durch, in der auch die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a figure resting beside a road and a river in the background (recto); Nine studies of pendants, and a sketch of a spider (verso) von Agostino Carracci zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.814,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Agostino Carracci erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Olimpia Luna As Judith And Melchiorre Zoppio As Holofernes im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 869.000,00 (€ 643.703,70).
