Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work A Dwarf Pointing To The Right by Agostino Carracci for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 28,220.14). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agostino Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Olimpia Luna As Judith And Melchiorre Zoppio As Holofernes in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 869,000.00 (€ 643,703.70).
