Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Woman, Head And Shoulders, In A White Ruff by Agostino Carracci was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,560.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agostino Carracci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Olimpia Luna As Judith And Melchiorre Zoppio As Holofernes in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 869,000.00 (€ 643,703.70).
