Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Paintings and Drawings 1974-1990 by Agnes Martin. The price achieved of GBP 3,810.00 (€ 3,810.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Agnes Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #44 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 17,728,800.00 (€ 15,707,273.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paintings and Drawings 1974-1990 von Agnes Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.810,00 (€ 3.810,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Agnes Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #44 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.728.800,00 (€ 15.707.273,85).
