The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Dutch three-master firing a salute, together with numerous other ships near a quay to the left, a windmill in the distance and outskirts of towns on the far horizon in October 2021 with an auction result of EUR 62,500.00.

Die Arbeit Ships in a quiet estuary von Aernout Smit kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 6.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 71 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aernout Smit erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Dutch three-master firing a salute, together with numerous other ships near a quay to the left, a windmill in the distance and outskirts of towns on the far horizon im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 62.500,00.
