Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Made in Holland, which included the work A view of the IJ harbour in winter, Amsterdam, with figures skating between the ships, a figure seated on an ice floe in the foreground by Aernout Smit. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 44,100.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Aernout Smit have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2021 the work A Dutch three-master firing a salute, together with numerous other ships near a quay to the left, a windmill in the distance and outskirts of towns on the far horizon was auctioned for EUR 62,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Made in Holland durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of the IJ harbour in winter, Amsterdam, with figures skating between the ships, a figure seated on an ice floe in the foreground von Aernout Smit zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 44.100,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Aernout Smit konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2021 die Arbeit A Dutch three-master firing a salute, together with numerous other ships near a quay to the left, a windmill in the distance and outskirts of towns on the far horizon für EUR 62.500,00 versteigert.
