Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Southern Mediterranean Seascape With Boats And Figures At Sunset by Adrien Manglard for USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,671.92). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrien Manglard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Mediterranean harbour with stevedores unloading their ships, figures selling fish in the foreground by a fortress, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 78,832.15).
