The work A capriccio view of the harbour at Naples, with the Castelnuovo, Lanterna del molo and Vesuvius beyond, with fishermen and stevedores; and A capriccio view of the harbour at Naples, with the Castel dell'Ovo, men playing cards, stevedores unloading th by Adrien Manglard was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,935.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adrien Manglard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Mediterranean harbour with stevedores unloading their ships, figures selling fish in the foreground by a fortress, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 78,832.15).
