Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Adrien Manglard could be acquired at Christies in London in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work Figures on an estuary with a ship careened in the background changed hands for USD 69,300.00 (€ 65,045.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Other works by Adrien Manglard have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2014 by the work A Mediterranean harbour with stevedores unloading their ships, figures selling fish in the foreground by a fortress at GBP 62,500.00 (€ 78,832.15).
