Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Three Young Ladies In An Elegant Interior by Adam Buck. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,568.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adam Buck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Naval Officer holding his sword under his right arm, facing right in blue coat with black facings, yellow trousers, frilled cravat and black stock, powdered hair en queue, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 5,975.00 (€ 9,356.93).
