Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work British Portrait Of A Lady by Adam Buck for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,693.01). This price was achieved in the auction Important Miniatures from a Private Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Adam Buck have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2002 by the work A Naval Officer holding his sword under his right arm, facing right in blue coat with black facings, yellow trousers, frilled cravat and black stock, powdered hair en queue at GBP 5,975.00 (€ 9,356.93).
