Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of Sarah Wright-Hewell (née Bartholomew), half-length, in white dress, her hair upswept by Adam Buck. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 778.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Buck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Naval Officer holding his sword under his right arm, facing right in blue coat with black facings, yellow trousers, frilled cravat and black stock, powdered hair en queue in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,975.00 (€ 9,356.93).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Naval Officer holding his sword under his right arm, facing right in blue coat with black facings, yellow trousers, frilled cravat and black stock, powdered hair en queue im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.975,00 (€ 9.356,93).
