In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A Fish-Monger Greeting An Elegant Lady And Her Child In The Entrance Hall Of A House by Abraham van Strij for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,158.82). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Strij achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 59,750.00.
