Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A butcher at his block, a side of beef to the right by Abraham van Strij was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,031.50 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Strij achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An interior with a child seated in a high chair teasing a dog, a servant washing by the window behind her in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 59,750.00.

Die Arbeit A butcher at his block, a side of beef to the right von Abraham van Strij kam im November 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.031,50 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham van Strij erzielen.
