Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Sentada en contemplacion by Abigail Varela for USD 9,400.00 (€ 10,012.78). This price was achieved in the auction MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART at Christies in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Abigail Varela have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mujer Sentada En Sofa in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,270.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sentada en contemplacion von Abigail Varela für USD 9.400,00 (€ 10.012,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART bei Christies in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Abigail Varela auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mujer Sentada En Sofa im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.270,61).
