Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Camera Obscura Image of Times Square in Hotel Room by Abelardo Morell was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 11,430.00 (€ 10,815.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abelardo Morell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Camera Obscura Image of Times Square in Hotel Room von Abelardo Morell kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.430,00 (€ 10.815,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Abelardo Morell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27) versteigert wurde.
