It changed hands for a price of USD 8,890.00 (€ 8,412.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abelardo Morell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27).
