Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 7 Million by Abelardo Morell was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,613.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abelardo Morell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.613,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Abelardo Morell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Detail of Book Damaged by Water, 2001 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27) versteigert wurde.
