This artwork by Abdulrahman Katanani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in April 2011. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art auction, the work The Oud Player sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abdulrahman Katanani; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in March 2016 with the realized price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,949.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Abdulrahman Katanani erzielte im April 2011 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art wurde die Arbeit The Oud Player für USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Abdulrahman Katanani; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.949,08).
