This artwork by Abdulrahman Katanani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2012. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II auction, the work Boy Flying With A Balloon sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 16,399.14) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Abdulrahman Katanani; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in March 2016 with the realized price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,949.08).
