Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Abbott Fuller Graves achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. In the American Art auction, the work The Basketmakers sold for USD 15,300.00 (€ 13,555.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abbott Fuller Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grandmother's Doorway in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 145,760.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Abbott Fuller Graves erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit The Basketmakers für USD 15.300,00 (€ 13.555,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abbott Fuller Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grandmother's Doorway im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 180.000,00 (€ 145.760,79).
