In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Grandmother's Doorway by Abbott Fuller Graves. The »bidding war« ended at USD 180,000.00 (€ 145,760.79), 20% above the upper estimate. With this result, Grandmother's Doorway is even the most expensive work of art by Abbott Fuller Graves that we have observed at auctions so far.
