Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Abbott Fuller Graves achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. In the American Art Online auction, the work By the Coastline, Jamaica sold for USD 7,040.00 (€ 6,495.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abbott Fuller Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grandmother's Doorway in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 145,760.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Abbott Fuller Graves erzielte im August diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art Online wurde die Arbeit By the Coastline, Jamaica für USD 7.040,00 (€ 6.495,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abbott Fuller Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grandmother's Doorway im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 180.000,00 (€ 145.760,79).
