Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Tavern Conversation by Abbott Fuller Graves was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,468.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abbott Fuller Graves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grandmother's Doorway in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 145,760.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Tavern Conversation von Abbott Fuller Graves im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.468,50) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abbott Fuller Graves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grandmother's Doorway im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 180.000,00 (€ 145.760,79).
