In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs, which included the work The Hooked Pike by A. Roland Knight. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,475.92), 70% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by A. Roland Knight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Perch; Salmon and Trout; Roach; Pike; Barbel and Chub; and Trout -the first leap in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 9,560.00 (€ 14,228.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Hooked Pike von A. Roland Knight zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.475,92) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von A. Roland Knight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Perch; Salmon and Trout; Roach; Pike; Barbel and Chub; and Trout -the first leap im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.560,00 (€ 14.228,14).
