This work without title by Alwar Balasubramaniam was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 12,654.22), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alwar Balasubramaniam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gravity in December 2014 with an auction result of INR 11,025,000.00 (€ 143,950.91).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Alwar Balasubramaniam wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 12.654,22) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alwar Balasubramaniam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gravity im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 11.025.000,00 (€ 143.950,91).
