In November 2018 Sothebys in Mumbai held the auction Boundless: India, which included the work Traces (Diptych) by Alwar Balasubramaniam. The »bidding war« ended at INR 5,000,000.00 (€ 63,145.81), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alwar Balasubramaniam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gravity, which sold at auction in December 2014 for INR 11,025,000.00 (€ 143,950.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in Mumbai die Auktion Boundless: India durch, in der auch die Arbeit Traces (Diptych) von Alwar Balasubramaniam zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von INR 5.000.000,00 (€ 63.145,81) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alwar Balasubramaniam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gravity beobachtet, die im Dezember 2014 für INR 11.025.000,00 (€ 143.950,91) versteigert wurde.
